Town on Hill

This piece was done on a 10" square canvas with acrylic paint, is my first attempt at a landscape. I'm very proud of this piece, among the best I've ever done. I even got the shadows right, on the left side of the buildings and hill. I thought of giving the buildings more color, like real life, but I like them a bit drab. My only real concern was, was the picture taken with my shaky hands too blurry? It now hangs in my doctor's office.

Imitation Mark Rothko, December 5, 2018

I was inspired by Mark Rothko's work and made a few imitations which you can see at

I did some research if him later, and, if you know Mark Rothko's work, you can see that his suicide was coming, so I decided to try another version of his style, Hopefully, a happier version, below:
